We have leased 1200 acres of private land next to the Black Hills National Forest for Merriam Spring Turkey Hunting in Sturgis, South Dakota. Our lease is two miles from downtown Sturgis in the shadow of Bear Butte.
A three or four day hunt will include four nights lodging and meals in Sturgis. Transportation will be provided to and from the airport in Rapid City and hunting area. Hunt may be guided or unguided and bird cleaning will be provided.
This area is an archer's paradise! We have two ground blinds with shoot-through mesh windows and decoys. Ther are six turkey roosts on the property. Contact us for prices on archery hunting packages.
Non-residents may purchase Black Hills Turkey licenses from the South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks. There is no drawing for this license.
We will take only four groups for the 2010 Spring Season so book your hunt soon!
Recommendations:
It's best to wear any type of camoflauge as long as you wear nothing that reflects or is white.
Wild turkeys have a very keen sense of sight and hearing. Any unneccessary movement or sound should be avoided while in a blind.
